About Virtually Immune


Our mission is to create a resource that supports the graphical and computational modelling of immune systems.                                               


The tools and resources presented here are designed to make it easy for immune biologists to begin to use pathway modelling as part of their research activity. Our aim is to facilitate a researcher’s ability to document and formulise what is known about a given system, and to use this knowledge to direct their experimental studies. In so doing the hope is that experiments will be designed better and results gained interpreted more fully.

By enabling scientists to run in silico experiments we hope to help them to model infectious and inflammatory disease-associated processes and thereby accelerate the development of of therapeutic agents. In so doing we hope this resource will assist in the reduction and refinement of the use of animals in immunological research.
